What is Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a group of disabling conditions caused by damage to the brain at birth or anytime thereafter-many times following an automobile or other accident. It has no known cure, but people having cerebral palsy can join the mainstream of life and have productive lives. Cerebral Palsy is not a disease, not progressive and not hereditary.

When was Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin, Inc. organized?
Since 1954, Cerebral Palsy has provided an ever-increasing scope of local services to individuals having cerebral palsy and other physical disabilities.

How is Cerebral Palsy funded?
Cerebral Palsy of Mideast Wisconsin is a nonprofit organization which relies on the financial generosity of individuals and organizations to provide funds for the many needed services. Contributions provide vital support for local programs of the agency.  Cerebral Palsy is proud to be a member agency of the United Ways of Fond du Lac, Winneconne, New London, Fox Cities and the Oshkosh Area United Way. Funds are also received from County Community Boards. Donations through Wills and Bequests to Cerebral Palsy are one of the fine ways to be remembered.

Who directs the operation of Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral Palsy is directed by a 22-member volunteer Board of Directors. They are dedicated, talented, concerned men and women who meet monthly to set policies and oversee all activities. These volunteers represent the Cerebral Palsy service area.

Our mission is to provide services that positively affect the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families, including, but not limited to cerebral palsy.
